Larry Gene Avery, 63, of East Carondelet, Illinois, formerly of Mulkeytown, Illinois, born February 18, 1955 in Christopher, Illinois, died Saturday, September 15, 2018, at his residence.

Larry was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Waterloo Sportsman's Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard "Richie" and Edna May, nee Gouge, Avery and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are the love of his life, Mary Rehfeldt; his children, Paul (Shelly) Avery, Bianca (Allen) Poland, Larry Gene Avery, Jr., and Bettie (Scott) Prickett; his siblings, Jimmy Dean (Darlene) Avery, Rita (Gary) McKinney, Stella (Charlie) Head, Bobby Sue (Michael Smothers) Avery and Debra Avery; and his grandchildren, Scott Prickett, Jr., Cheyenne Avery, and Abigail Prickett. He was also a dear uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

In following Larry's wishes, his body was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Jerome Lane Baptist Church, Cahokia, Illinois. Arrangements were handled by Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.
