Karen K. Smith, 74, of Dupo, Illinois, born January 7, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her daughter's home in Columbia, Illinois.

Karen loved animals and gardening and had the "greenest thumb" that anyone could have; she could grow anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian, nee Burgert, Smith.

Surviving are her two daughters, Angela Williams of Dupo, IL and Sheralyn (Matthew) Mueller of Columbia, IL; her former husband, Larry Williams of Cahokia, IL; her former son-in-law, Alan Boxell of Columbia, IL; a brother, John (Marlene) Smith; seven grandchildren, Bethany (Enrique Maldonado) Prater, Daniel Blaylock, Bryce (Alexandra) Mueller, Bret Mueller, David Boxell, Sheridan Blaylock, and Haley Boxell; and eight great grandchildren, Aaden, Jacob, Novalee, Freyja, Ayden, Brody, Julian, and Asher. She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
