Josephine "Joey" Braun, nee Powell, 86, of Belleville, IL, born April 20, 1932 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Sycamore Assisted Living in Swansea, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred O. Braun; parents, Walter and Edna, nee Radziejewski, Powell; nine brothers, Jesse, Barney, Buddy, Tom, Hugh, Steve, Joe, Bill and Eddie.

Surviving are her children, Raymond (Janet) Braun of Bellebille, IL and Karen Braun (Keith Hacke) of Glendale, MO; a brother, Jerry (Alberta) Powell of Florida; four sisters, Irene (Ricky) Smith of Florida, Rosie (Rudy) Feigl of Damiansville, IL, Mary Powell, Marie (Rodney) Ringgenberg of Belleville, IL; five grandchildren, Raymond Braun, Tanya (Greg) Beach, Joel, Laura and Quinn Hacke; three great grandchildren, Austin, Megan and Michael. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Memorials may be made to the Pleasent Valley Baptist Church of Belleville, IL or American Diabetes Association.

Graveside services will be on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
