John Joseph D'Angelo, Sr., 93, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 15, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri.

John was the owner/operator of the former D'Angelo's Custom Tailor and Uniform in St. Louis, MO.  He was a U.S. Army veteran; a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tipton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy D'Angelo, nee Aubuchon; a son, Michael D'Angelo; a daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" Greathouse;  his parents, Vito and Lena, nee LaDuca, D'Angelo; a sister, Marie O'Guinn; a brother, Andy D'Angelo; and many in-laws.

Surviving are his children, John D'Angelo, Jr. and Antoinette "Toni" Ball; a son-in-law, James Robert Greathouse; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ross Goessling) Horsley; Erik (Hilery) O'Guinn, Murray O'Guinn, Dawn D'Angelo, and Jonathan (Mandy) Greathouse; great grandchildren, April and Erik, Jr.; a sister, Jeanette Permenter; a brother, Vito (Helen) D'Angelo; and a sister-in-law, Aurelia Pennick.  He was also a dear uncle, Cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial with Father Osang Idagbo CM officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
