John "Junior" Collins Jr., 79 of Cahokia, IL, born October 2, 1944 in New Hall, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at St. Louis University Hospital.

John was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Home Depot in Collinsville, IL. He was an avid bowler and loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ora Collins, nee Brewster; five brothers, Clyde, Glenn, Jack, Roger, and Ronald; two sisters, Jane Francis and Beula Pappas.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Collins, nee Thiele; son, Robert (Denise) Collins of Cahokia, IL; daughter, Linda (James) Lay of Zephyrhills, FL; two brothers, James and Charles Collins; four sisters, Carol Kreamalmeyer, Doris Niner, Janice Steveson and Joyce Harman; four grand children, Sarah (David), Devin, Lorianna Jewel and Katherine Renee; six great grand children. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Living Water Church of God Cahokia, IL. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 with Reverend Larry Ridenour officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery St. Louis, MO.
