JoAnn Marlen, nee Rizzie, 80, of Millstadt, Illinois, born January 6, 1945 in Litchfield, Illinois, died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Breese Nursing Home in Beese, Illinois.

JoAnn retired from United Parcel Service in Belleville, IL after 28 years. She loved horses and would attend competitions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Marlen; her parents, Herman and Firmina, nee Turigliatto, Rizzie; and a brother, Herman Rizzie.

Surviving are her two sons, Matthew (Tammie) Marlen of O'Fallon, IL and Nate Marlen of Freeburg, IL; two sisters, Maryann (George) Lieb of Mulberry Grove, IL and Alberta Rizzie of Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren. She was also a dear aunt, cousin, and friend.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Palmier Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
