Jerry L. Cover, Sr., 73, of Waterloo, IL, born January 17, 1948 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry served in the U.S. Navy and was a former member of Assembly of God Church in Waterloo, IL. Jerry retired from Joplin Sanitation in Cahokia, IL. He loved fishing, stock car racing, horse racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Lucille Morgan, Cover.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Debbie A. Cover nee Ratterman; his children; Jerry L. (Vicki) Cover Jr. of Alton, IL, Frank E. (Kelly) Cover of Waterloo, IL, and Joshua T. (Erin) Cover of High Ridge, MO; one sister, Carol (Paul) Johnson of Valmeyer, IL; 15 grandchildren, Abby (Tyson) Stokes, Tiffany (Dusty) Boles, Cassandra (Robert) Williamson, Jesse Barach, Jonathan Cover, Jesse Cover, Sabrina Cover, Cheyenne Cover, Madison Cover, Jada Cover, Brianna Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Karmen Cover, Hudson Cover , and Hallie Cover; and 10 great great grandchildren, Emma, Carly, Tanner, Brianna, Stormy, Zander, Riley, Brooklyn, Mia, Evan. Jerry was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Memorial gathering and service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Second Chance Ministry 2736 IL. Rt. 156 Waterloo, IL. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Harget Jr. officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held after services till 4:00 p.m.. Jerry's wish was to be cremated.
