Jerry Gene Boren, 71 of Dupo, IL., born March 22, 1946, in St. Louis, MO., passed away on April 23, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Boren was a U.S. Army Veteran, he retired from the maintenance dept. from the Cahokia School Dist 187.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Boren; his parents, Frank and Ada, nee Stokes, Boren; one sister, Bertene Clark; four brothers Frank, J.D., Kenneth and Roy Dale.

Surviving are his son, Jerry Gene (Rachel Lovelace) Boren II of Belleville, IL.; one sister, Therisa (Jim) Randall of Arnold, MO.; one brother, Terry (Dana) Boren of Pinckneyville, IL; his fiancé Susie Young of Dupo, IL; six grandchildren, Tyler, Arek, Gabrielle, Kaleigh, Presley and Adalyn; two great grandchildren, Skylar and Kaydence. He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home, 265 Quarry Road, Columbia, Illinois.

Funeral services will be on Thursday April 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Paul Malutinok officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
