Janet O'Connor, age 94, of Cahokia, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at her daughter, Kathy Worthington's home in Collierville, TN where she has lived for the past 8 years.
Janet was born on April 13, 1929 to Willis and Merthyr Mytinger in St. Louis, MO. She was an only child, and left a great legacy behind of 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She and family were members of Maplewood Park Baptist Church in Cahokia, IL. She worked and retired from May Company in St. Louis, MO.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter in law, Jan O' Connor. she is survived by her 4 children; a son, John O'Connor (Terry) of Rome, GA, a daughter, Kathy Worthington (Chip) of Collierville, TN and sons, Joe O'Connor and Mike O'Connor, both of Waterloo, IL, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and cousins, Paul Obersteller of San Marcos, TX and Kae Roach of St. Louis, MO.
People will remember Janet for her bright smile that showed through her eyes, her kindness to others, never knowing a stranger, and her great love for Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul, caring about winning souls to Christ, and was not shy about talking to anyone who would listen.
Janet requested "Church" for her Celebration of Life service with the Good News of Jesus to be preached, which is so like her to have soul winning on her mind as she leaves this world too!!!

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
