James "Jamie" P. Largent, 62, of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 28, 1961 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his residence, after an eight month battle with esophageal cancer.

Jamie was employed by Falling Springs Quarry in Dupo, IL.  He loved spending time with his granddaughters and heckling his coworkers, who were all like family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas "Gary" Largent, Sr.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Largent, nee O'Guinn; a son, Andrew (Clare) Largent of Swansea, IL; a step son, Jason Birks of Florida; his mother, Nancy Sue Largent, nee Sickmeier; a brother, Douglas "Gary" (Dawn) Largent, Jr. of Mascoutah, IL; two granddaughters, Mabry and Camryn Largent of Swansea, IL; and two nieces, Heather (Jason) Klein of Mascoutah, IL and Lynne (Matt) Lanter of Swansea, IL.  He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

The family would like to thank his Quarry Family, Hospice of Southern Illinois, and the family friends that loved and supported Jamie and his family during his battle with cancer.

In following Jamie's wishes a private cremation will be held.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at West Park Bowl and Saloon, 1101 Valmeyer Rd., Columbia, Illinois, .  Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Jamie.
