James "Jim" L. Stokes, 65 of Columbia, IL, born May 6, 1958 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at his residence.

Jim was retired from United Petroleum Service Inc. in St. Louis, MO and was a member of the Pipefitters Local 562. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, spending time with family and friends and most importantly being a devoted husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Stokes.

Surviving are his wife, Valerie Stokes, nee Steinmeyer; son, Robbie Stokes; mother, Virginia Stokes of Greenville, IL; brother, Harvey (Julie) Stokes of Greenville, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Nancy Steinmeyer of Dupo, IL;and sister-in-law, Jeannie Ronzo of Edwardsville, IL. He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend.

Memorials may be made to Robbie Stokes Education Fund or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Braun Family Funeral Home Columbia, IL.
