James "Jimmy" E. Newell, 53, of Cahokia, Illinois, born May 29, 1972 in Belleville, Illinois, died Saturday, March 21, 2026 at his residence.

Jimmy worked hard, but he loved to go fishing. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching baseball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary, nee Hoffman, Newell, Sr..

Surviving are his children, James Newell, Jr. and Katie Newell, both of Collinsville, IL, Mark Newell of St. Louis, MO, and Heather Newell of Cahokia, IL; his step children, Trey and Terri Anglin, both of Collinsville, IL and Britney Anglin of Farmington, MO; his former wives, Irene Newell of Collinsville, IL and Donna Newell of Cahokia, IL; his brothers, David (Patty) Newell, Jr. of Collinsville, IL and Kenneth Newell of Cahokia, IL. He was also a dear grandfather, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.

A private cremation was to be held. No services are currently planned.
