James Clifton "JC" McDaniel, 86, of Sauget, IL. born on July 22, 1934 in McHenry, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his residence.
JC was a U.S. Army veteran; he was retired from Sauget Police Dept. where he was a police officer for over 30 years, He also worked for Cahokia School District 187 as the truant officer for over 50 years. He was the softball pitching coach for Cahokia Junior and Senior High schools and S.I.U.E. J.C's greatest love were his children and grandchildren, He also loved hunting, fishing, and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark McDaniel; his parents, Maurice and Merle, nee Smith, McDaniel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroll and Gertrude Thomas; and three brother-in-laws, Joseph Thomas, Henry Calbreath, and Donald Graham.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Yvonne McDaniel, nee Thomas; his children; James C. McDaniel of Springfield, IL. Denise (Jack) Latchem of Waterloo, IL, and Cyndee (Billy) Luther of Columbia, IL; forever daughter-in-law, Kathy Unger of Ponte-Vedre Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren, Breeyn (Dan) Lane, Kellen (Rachael) Latchem, Devin (Christina) Latchem, Bryce (Brad) Dillenberger, Brady (Torey) Luther, Brett Luther, Matthew McDaniel, Ashton McDaniel, Karley McDaniel, Mason McDaniel, and Davis (Emily) McDaniel;; and 10 great grandchildren. J.C was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Memorials may be made to Hope Christian Church, Columbia, IL. or Kellsie's Hope foundation in Collinsville, IL.
Memorial visitation will be held on Monday April 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hope Christian Church in Columbia, IL.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at 10:00 am at the church with Pastor Darrell Jones officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks Natl. Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. J.C's wishes was to be cremated.
