James R. Allen Sr., 74, of Waterloo, IL, formally of Cahokia, IL, born July 27, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mercy South Hospital St. Louis, MO.

James was retired from Heintz Steel in St. Louis, MO. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sport shooting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Dora Allen, nee Bles.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Allen, nee Hochstatter; three sons, James (Elizabeth) Allen Jr. of Cahokia, IL, Richard Allen of Waterloo, IL and Joseph Allen of Cahokia, IL; sister, Annalee (James) Wilson of Millstadt, IL; six grandchildren, James III, Olivia, Samantha, Joseph Jr., Luke, Logan. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Visitation will be on Monday January 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd Columbia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Private cremation to follow.
