Howard C. Steinmetz, 90, of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 1, 1935 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 at his residence.

Howard was retired from General Motors. He was a member of the former Centreville Baptist Church.He was a good mechanic and would work on friends and family's cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Steinmetz, nee Morelan; two sons, Charles and John Steinmetz; his parents, Charles and Leora, nee Dildine, Steinmetz; two brothers, Ray and Earl Steinmetz and Erma Kelly.

Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Tom) Powers of Belleville, IL; three sisters, Helen Norman of Dair Dealing, MO, Mary (Lon) Wilkerson of Kansas City, MO and Bernita Keele of Poplar Bluff, MO; four grandchildren , William "Billy: Steinmetz, Marie Steinmetz,  Amanda Powers, and Stephanie Maslanka; Connor, Killian, Violet and William ; and a great great grandson, Roman

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. the funeral home with officiating.  Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
