GREGORY "DON" HICKS, 70, of Taylorville, Illinois, born June 17, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Cahokia Nursing and Rehab, Cahokia, Illinois.

Don was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret "Peggy" LaGreda Hicks; his father and step mother, Earl and Clara Hicks; a brother, Raymond Hicks; and two sisters, Norma Jean Haglauer and Shirley Brown.

Surviving are his six children, Travis Hicks and Tina (Garry) Sidell, both of Pekin, IL, Desiree and Derek Monts, both of Van Buren, AR; and Shawn Hill of Taylorville, IL; an "adopted daughter" Crystal Taylor of Florida; seven grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

At Mr. Hicks' request his body was cremated. Services were handled by Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois.
