Goldie B. Browning, nee Norris, 89, of Cahokia, Illinois, born August 28, 1928, in Bertrand, Missouri, died Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Integrity Healthcare of Columbia, Illinois.

Goldie was retired from Bridal Originals in St. Louis, MO and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1699 Ladies Auxiliary in Cahokia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Browning; a son, Rickie Browning; her parents, James and Wanie, nee Whiteaker, Browning; a brother, Archie Norris; and two sisters, Irene Caveness and Betty Walberg.

Surviving are her sons, Gary (Cheryl) Browning of Columbia, IL and Robert Browning of Cahokia, IL; three brothers, Richard (Corabell) Norris of Salem, MO, James (Barb) Norris of Shiloh, IL, and Morris Norris of Salem, MO; two sisters, Lucille Frost and Rosetta Sutton, both of Salem, MO; six grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Christopher, Adam. Eric, Lisa, and Robin; nine great grandchildren, Ashley, Rickie, Blaine, Shelby, Vivian, Keysen, Brooke, Olivia, and Adam, Jr.; and a great great granddaughter, Korie. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, IL and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the James and Gahr Funeral Home, Salem, MO. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Northlawn Cemetery, Salem, MO.
