Geraldine "Gerry" (Gulledge) Meyer, nee Dement, 96, of Festus, Missouri, formerly  of Cahokia, Illinois, born May 18, 1930 in Broseley, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Crystal Oaks Long term Care in Festus, Missouri.

She was formerly employed at the Cahokia Animal Clinic for 16 years; Touchette Regional Medical Office, and The Cahokia Village Hall. She was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church in Dupo, IL; and the Friends of the Library and TOPPS #221, both of Cahokia, IL. She was also a member of the Queen City Chapter 697, Order of the Eastern Star of Fairview Heights, IL for over 50 years.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, France and Wilma, nee Rice; her first husband, Don Gulledge; her second husband, Charles Meyer; a son, Danny Gulledge; a daughter, Janet Brown; a grandson,Jeffrey Brown; a brother, Felton "Jim" Dement; two sisters, Verla Mae Warmack and Cleo Boyce; and two step sons, Chuck and Richard Meyer;

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Wayne) Ploesser of Hillsboro, MO; a son-in-law, Charlie Brown of Greenville, IL; three grandchildren, Jim (Carolyn) Brown of Cottleville, MO, Christy (Charlie) Rennie of Imperial, MO and Danielle Gulledge of St. Louis, MO; and six great grandchildren, Nolen (Julia) Brown,Tyler, Chase, and Jordan Brown, and Evan, and Morgan Rennie.  She was also a dear mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Marvin Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
