George Bodi of Dupo, Illinois, passed away on September 23, 2025

Born on August 27, 1943, he was the son of the late George M. and Louise (Schall) Bodi. George proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning his long career at Granite City Steel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of more than 45 years, Carol Ann Bodi; his daughter, Tina Hancock; and his dear brothers and sisters.

George will be remembered as a laid-back, go-with-the-flow man who never complained, worked hard, loved his wife fiercely, and cherished his family. Always kind and grateful for what he had, he touched the lives of many through his gentle strength and devotion.

He is survived by his granddaughters, Taryn Rowden, Brittany Hancock, and Courtney Rowden; and by his great-grandchildren, Connor, Aubrie, Jaxson, Matthew, Liam, Harper, Rowan, Cole, and Cora.

George's family takes comfort in knowing that he is at peace, no longer suffering and rejoicing in a heavenly reunion with his beloved wife he missed so dearly.

There will be a private service held for immediate family.
