Evelyn L. Gainer, nee Dailey, 93 of Waterloo, IL, formerly of Cahokia, IL. born November 28, 1927 in Palmer, IL. passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Cedarhurst Senior Living in Shiloh, Illinois.

Evelyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL. She retired from Quick Point Pen & Pencil in Fenton, MO. A member of V.F.W. Post 1699 ladies auxiliary and American Legion Post 784 ladies auxiliary and the Moose Lodge all of Cahokia, IL. She was an avid bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James W. Chadduck and her 2nd husband, Robert F. Gainer; a daughter, Glenda K. Jackson; her parents, Walter and Lavada ,nee Stockton, Dailey; and two brothers, Laverne and Gary Dailey.

Surviving are her son, Jim (Lisa) Chadduck of Waterloo, IL; 2 step-daughters Tracey (Jeff) Colona of Imperial, MO. Teri (Steven) Murray of Benson, MN. seven grandchildren, Jimmy (Jennifer) Chadduck of St. Louis, MO. Paul (Melissa) Chadduck of O'Fallon, IL. Matt (Kristen) Chadduck of Millstadt, IL. Dianna (Roger) Henley of Dupo, IL. William Williams of Cahokia, IL. David (Sarah) Inman of Waterloo, IL. and Amanda (Jay) Kays of Waterloo, IL; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and her special friend, Peggy Nelson. Evelyn was also a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL. and on Thursday from from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. at the funeral home.

Funeral procession to leave at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois for an 11 00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial with Father Osang Idagbo officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
