Elodia R. Helmick, nee Ramos, 78 of Cahokia, IL, born December 28, 1939 in Kingsville, TX., passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Touchette Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Helmick was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fairview Hgts, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Hortencia, nee Gracia, Ramos and her sister, Norma G. Ramos.

Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Eugene K. Helmick; her children, Debbie (Gary) Craig Sr. of Cahokia, IL. and Kenny (Leasa) Helmick of Cahokia, IL; eight brothers and sisters, Robert Ramos of Salt lake City, UT., Rolando (Nancy) Ramos of Sandy, UT., Jose (Freda) Ramos of West Valley, UT., David (Connie) Ramos of West Jordan, UT., Eloy (Juana) Ramos of Taylorville, UT., Marcellino Ramos of Kingsville, TX., and Sylvia (Ricardo) Arenas of Phoenix, AZ., and Carlos Ramos of Millcreek, UT; five grandchildren; Gary (Sarah) Craig Jr. of Columbia, IL., Trevor Craig of Lancaster, PA., Kyle (Emily) Helmick of Smithton, IL., Corey (Emily) Helmick of Hill Air Force Base , UT., and Logan (Nadia) Craig of Columbia, IL; eight great grandchildren. She was also a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, 3701 Falling Springs Rd. Cahokia, IL. and on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9827 Bunkum Road, Fairview Hgts, IL
