Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Brees, nee Elliot, 57, of Columbia, Illinois, born July 23, 1960, in Alexandria, Louisiana, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Elizabeth was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, IL and a former member of Columbia Heritage Commission. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis E. Elliot; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Dorothy "Melba" Brees.

Surviving are her husband, Michael E. Brees; a son, Adam M. Brees of Alton, IL; and her mother, Laura A. Elliot, nee King, of Dupo, IL. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Monsignor Carl Scherrer officiating. Burial will be at Palmier Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
