Douglas R. "Doug" Turley 75 of Red Bud, IL., formerly of Cahokia, IL., born on March 17, 1948 in Evansville, IN., passed away on September 2, 2023 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Shiloh, IL.
Doug was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Machine Gunner 1st Air Cav Division. He retired from Big River Zinc in Sauget, IL., were he was a machinist. He also retired from Cahokia School Dist. 187 Maintenance Dept. He was a member of International Association of Machinist Union, Teachers Union 1272, V.F.W. member in Cahokia, IL. & Red Bud, IL., American Legion in Red Bud, IL., 38 year friend of Bill W. He helped countless people to better their lives. He loved playing the guitar, fishing, gardening, camping and traveling, but most of all spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his second wife Mary Linda Turley nee Coker, his parents Delmar & Elizabeth Turley, his sister Sarah Warnecke and mother-in-law Bonnie Williams.
Surviving are his wife Pamela J. Turley nee Williams. His children; Brenda (Steve) Crum of East Carondelet, IL., Linda (Robert) Bailey of Valmeyer, IL., Heather (David) Vanderpool of Kimmswick, MO., James Parker of Dupo, IL., Jackie Rasch of Belleville, IL., Maranda (Andrew) Williams of O'Fallon, IL.,Alexander Junge of Red Bud, IL. Father-in-law Gary Williams of Freeburg, IL. Brother-in-law Kevin (Anna) Williams of St. Augustine, FL., Sister-in-law Cindy (Richard) Hurst of Columbia, IL. 5 grandchildren Holly, Zach, Bobby, Trinity and Hayden. Great granddaughter Laily. Doug was a dear uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Wednesday September 6, 2023 from 10:30 am to 12:30 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks Natl. Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
