Dorothy R. Mealer, nee Johnson, 90 of Columbia, IL, entered into eternal rest, on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Bria of Columbia in Columbia, IL.  She was born April 2, 1933 in Hickman, Kentucky.

Our mom lived her life to the fullest.  She loved her family and friends with all her heart.

She liked camping and fishing. Dorothy and L.D. were avid walkers, throughout the US along with a group of friends called The Illinois Trackers.  She loved getting together with her group of friends for breakfast every Tuesday morning.  Her family would like to thank her wonderful friends Lousie, Loretta and Ray for making sure she got there.  She will surely be missed.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Robert) Mees of Columbia, IL, her son Raymond (Louise) Mealer of Cedar Hill, MO, along with eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren, along with many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Mealer of 66 years. They were married November 6, 1948, her parents, Lorene Murphy nee Crocker, her father Ernest Johnson, her brothers, James, Robert, Albert, Billy, Pete. Larry and her sister Dora Helen.  Her baby son L.D. Jr, her son Larry D. Mealer, her daughter JoAnn Williams, her granddaughter Tammy M. Martin, and her beloved dog "Baby".

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

In following Dorothy's wishes a private cremation will be held.

There will be a graveside service at a later date.
