Doris Jean Volk, nee Martin, 89, of Belleville, IL, born March 20, 1933 in Sparta, IL, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Cedar Creek Assisted Living in Belleville, IL. Surrounded by her loving family.

Before retiring, Doris was the owner/operator of The Jewelry Works in Cahokia, with her husband Glenn, from 1984 to 2004. She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed working puzzles, numerous card games, bingo and family meals, Doris just enjoyed being around family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll Jackson; second husband, Glenn Volk; her daughter, D'Etta Neale, nee Jackson; her parents, Paul and Ollie Belle, nee Findley, Martin; and a brother, David Martin.

Surviving are her son, Paul (Margaret) Jackson of Millstadt, IL; grandchildren, Maranda (Dave) Nybo of Pass Christian, MS, Malissa (John) Ellis of Long Beach, MS, Mallory (Dylan) Jackson of Collinsville, IL, Jeffrey (Mandy) Jackson of Collinsville, IL, and Lisa Bateman of Belleville, IL and 12 great grandchildren. Doris was also a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will be on Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd Columbia, Illinois.

Funeral services will be on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Entombment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Illinois.
