Obituary

Doris "Dot" Faye Robinson, nee Hayes, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020.

Born May 5, 1929, in East St. Louis IL, she was the daughter of Allen and Naoma Hayes. Dot was formerly from Cahokia IL, were she had raised her family, then moved to Columbia IL.

Dot loved to listen to music, play tennis, and loved to dance. She was on a Square-dance team "The Dandy Dancers" they held dances all over St. Clair County.  Dot was part Cherokee and was very proud of her Indian heritage. Dot also read her bible every day and lived her life as God's dedicated follower.

Dot was a shining light to everyone she met. Her home was always a warm, welcoming place. She made you feel loved, and wanted. There was always a cup of coffee or a plate of food for you.

She was very dignified, and could also make you laugh until you cried. She was the best mother and grandmother in the world. She devoted her whole life to her children, then to her grandchildren. She was always the first to compliment their accomplishments with so much pride. She loved them all with her entire heart.

She loved all animals, especially her little doggies.  She once saw a dog hit on the highway. She ran out in front of traffic and carried it to safety.  That's who she was!

Dot hadn't been able to walk for about 7 years due to arthritis in her knees. Her daughter was in the hospital in serious condition. She prayed so hard for her. Finally in desperation, she got out of bed, got on her knees and prayed. She had to call her grandson to come over and help her off the floor. That's the kind of mother she was!

Dot and her daughter fought together in a very long, difficult battle for her recovery. Finally God said, "Dot, come home". We were then comforted knowing her body would now be healed and free of pain. She is now dancing in heaven with her brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in heaven by her husband, Kenneth M. Robinson; son Gary; 3 brothers, Owen, Allen(Gene) and James Hayes; two sisters, Nellie Stanfield and Jewell Hopfinger;  three grandchildren, Randy Benjamin, Dakota Dean and Randi Deanne.

Surviving are her children, Kenneth Robinson II of Seattle WA, and Barbara Stroud of Columbia IL; four grandchildren, Barry, Emily(Darren), Pasha and Robyn. Including many loving friends, Diane Dutchik, Ellen Carr and many others.
