Donald Leon Volner, 85, of Sparta, IL, born August 18,1938 in Davisville, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 18,2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran and Retired from Allied Gear in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Volner; parents, Romanard and Ola Metcalf Volner Boyster; son, Donald Duane Volner; grandson, David Hurst; seven brothers, Estol Volner, Oscar Volner, Ronnie Volner, Daniel Boyster Jr., Everett Boyster, Dennis Boyster and Bill Boyster; three sisters, Marie Raney, Alice Vandlandingham and Wilma Tyler.

Surviving are his two daughters, Donna Volner Hurst and Pamela Volner both of Sparta, IL; two grandchildren, Brooke and Aaliyah Thomas both of Sparta, IL; two great grandchildren, Meia and Wyatt Downen of West Plains, MO; four sisters, Mary Farmer of Coulterville, IL, Geretta (Tom) Botkin of Boss, MO, Dani (Jack) Mize of Sullivan, IN and Betty Stringfellow of Lucedale, MS; a brother David (Chris) Boyster of Marissa, IL.  He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23,2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Braun Family Funeral Home Columbia, IL. Funeral service will follow with Derick Pratt officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
