With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Diana Ruth Weimer-Czapla, 68**,of Valmeyer, Il., born October 16, 1957 in St. Louis, MO., passed away on February 10, 2026 at Mercy Hospital South surrounded by her loving family.

She was a devoted Catholic whose life was a reflection of faith, family, and heartfelt celebration.
Diana's faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted Catholic, she found strength in
prayer and comfort in the love of Christ. She lived her beliefs daily through kindness,
compassion, and quiet acts of service. Her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion were
evident to all who knew her. Diana's greatest joy was caring for her loved ones. She treasured every opportunity to babysit her God children and grandchildren, creating special memories filled with laughter, stories, and tender affection. She had a gift for making each child feel deeply loved and safe in her presence. Her nurturing heart was one of her greatest blessings to her family.
She also found immense happiness in celebrating and decorating for the holidays. Diana had a special touch that made every season magical. Whether it was the glow of Christmas lights, beautifully arranged Easter decorations, or festive touches throughout the year, her home radiated warmth and joy. Holidays were never ordinary — they were occasions filled with love, tradition, and togetherness because of her thoughtful care and creativity.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort knowing that Diana now rests in the eternal peace of the Lord she faithfully served. Her love, her faith, and the beautiful
traditions she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
Diana Ruth Weimer-Czapla will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew
and loved her. May she rest in the peace of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents Edwin Harold & Elizabeth Cicelia Farrow, Diveley, 4 sisters; Elizabeth Wilburn, Lolita Diveley, Mary Inerra, Dorothy Mudd. 3 brothers; Dan Diveley, Tom Diveley, Edwin Diveley.

Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Bruce Czapla, her son Patrick (Meghan) Weimer of Valmeyer, IL., 3 daughters; Christina (Justin) Shacklette of St. Louis, MO., Jennifer (William) Sandbach of St. Louis, MO., Elise (Chavo) Escoto of St. Louis, MO. 3 sisters; Clara (Al) Brinley of Maryville, IL., Veronica (Frank) Dill of Maryville, IL., Cecilia (Carson) Hamby of Mexico Beach, FL.  Brother-in-law Glenn Mudd of Houston, TX. 6 grandchildren; Aiden & Sidney Shacklette, Haley (Keandre Hamblin Sr.) Sandbach, Milo & Thiago Escoto. 1 great grandson Keandre Hamblin Jr. Diana has many many Godchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 15, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home 265 Quarry Rd. Columbia, IL.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday February 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, IL. with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Burial will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Waterloo.
