Derral E. "Pat" Batson 86, Waterloo, Illinois, formerly Cahokia, Illinois, born on January 27, 1932, in Cobden, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at The Fountains in Granite City, Illinois.

Mr. Batson served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He retired from Ameren Electric Company out of St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the Waterloo Masonic Lodge #787, and a member of Walnut Grove Church in Cobden, IL.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemarie Batson, nee Ennevor; his parents, Bob and Isabell Batson; a brother, Link Batson; and a great grandson, Jameson Cummins.

Surviving are his son, David G. (Jody) Batson of Granite City, IL; three grandchildren, Victoria (Jon) Cummins, and Lucas and Brook Batson, all of Granite City, IL; and three great grandchildren, Matilda, Henrick and Elliemae. He was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Church in Cobden, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Braun Family Funeral Home, 265 Quarry Road, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Collingwood officiating. A Funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10:45 a.m. to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
