Delores E. Wenkel, nee Tebbenhoff, 91, of Waterloo, Illinois, born April 6, 1932 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Delores and her husband Ken worked their family farm in Columbia, IL, where they had several thousand laying hens and ducks.  They also grew vegetables and flowers.  She loved to go Polka Dancing with her husband.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Wenkel and her parents, Joseph and Mathilda, nee Kruse, Tebbenhoff.

Surviving are her husband of almost 73 years, Ken Wenkel; a daughter, Janice (Gene) Blandford of Waterloo, IL; and a sister-in-law, Rosetta Wenkel of Columbia, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helping Strays of Waterloo, IL.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Monsignor Carl Scherrer officiating.  A burial at Miles Cemetery, Waterloo, Illinois will be held at a later date.
