Obituary

David A. Blissenbach, 77, of Fenton, Missouri entered eternal rest April 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 9, 1948, in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas where he was the youngest of three sons.

David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. David owned and operated Olde Tyme Optical Shoppe where he enjoyed serving his community for well over thirty years. He and his family are faithful members of Twin Rivers Church in the St. Louis area. He served as an Elder as well as many other ministries within the church. He was previously very active at Living Water Church in Cahokia, Illinois, where he served on the pastor's council for well over two decades.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millie (nee Laird) Blissenbach; brothers, Norman and Robert Blissenbach; father and    mother-in-law Kelly and Delores (nee Miller) Blanks; son in law, Kevin Robinson; and a niece, Katie Busby (nee Joellenback).

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Luanna Blissenbach (nee Blanks); daughter, Kelli Bump; son, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Blissenbach; and four grandchildren, Rachel Robinson; Matthew (Vanessa) Blissenbach; Andrew Blissenbach; Braden Blissenbach; sisters-in-law, Jean Blissenbach; Callie Blissenbach as well as nieces and nephews.

David (known as Potts to family and friends) loved God and his family. He enjoyed riding his Harley, working on cars, and working with his hands. A quote that best describes David is, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but better yet than a master of one". During his retirement, he enjoyed sitting on his deck and going out to lunch with his wife and their friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2nd from 10 AM – 11AM at Twin Rivers Church, 10575 Tesson Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri. A Celebration of Life to be held immediately after at 11 AM at the church with a reception to follow.
