Daniel J. Schwent, 67, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born July 12, 1950, in Perryville, Missouri, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Dan was retired from Kiesel Oil Co. in St. Louis, MO. He was a 4th Degree member of the Leo Jerome Assembly 1666 of the Knights of Columbus in Cahokia, IL and was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran. He was member of the Laborers' International Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milferd "Mel" and Gertrude, nee Wibbenmeyer, Schwent; a brother, Kenneth Schwent; and a sister, Christine Schwantner.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Jeanette Schwent, nee Scott; a son, Ryan Schwent of Cahokia, IL; a daughter, Kimberly Schwent of Waterloo, IL; a brother, Michael (Sue) Schwent of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Bette (Russell) Revelle of Herculaneum, MO, Liann Brimmer of St. Louis, MO and Joann (Robert) Bentrup of Branson, MO; two grandchildren, Kayla Schwent and Kevin Haley; and a brother-in-law, Robert Schwantner. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral procession to leave at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
