Daniel William Greer, 73, of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 14, 1949, in Wood River, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Touchette Regional Hospital.

Dan was retired from BKD in St. Louis, MO. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL, where he served in various capacities, including; Eucharistic Minister, Lector, member of the church council, the former school board and the log church committee. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4596 in Cahokia.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Charlton and his parents, John W. and Goldie V., nee Chamberlain, Greer.

Surviving are his wife, Randi, nee McClenahan, Greer; his children, Danielle Johnson of Carlyle, IL and Matthew Greer of Cahokia, IL; a son-in-law, J.R. Charlton of Valmeyer, IL; four grandchildren, Jakob (Sarah Ozee) Greer, Pheonix Johnson, Mackenzie Charlton and Blake Charlton; and a brother, Robert "Bob" (Dianna) Greer of Fredericktown, MO. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral procession to leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial, with Father Osang Idagbo, C.M. officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
