Cynthia (Cindy) E. Horn,70, of St. Clair County Illinois, died peacefully on January 29, 2025 in St. Louis at Evelyn's House, surrounded by her loving family.
Cindy was born in Pensacola, Florida to Elizabeth and Paul Ponzetti.
She is survived by her children; Michael Presson (Tracy) of Barnhart, MO and Christine Vandever (Ross) of New Port Richey, FL, her grandchildren;  Ross Vandever IV, Justin Vandever, Clara Presson and Sam Siebert; her mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Ponzetti of Safety Harbor, FL, her sisters; Rosemarie Adair (Donald) of Decatur, AL, Lu Ann Masem (Pete) of Clearwater, FL, Betsy Arfmann (Terry Orris) of Clearwater, FL, and Paula Pearson (Don Dintelman) of Palm Harbor, FL, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father; Paul Ponzetti, her niece; Monica Everton, her grandson; Jacob Siebert, and her husband; Thomas (Tom) Horn.

Cindy led a life of service.  She was a very active, long-standing member and Trustee of Holy Family Catholic Church/St. Catherine Laboure.  She has served many years as a board member in the Holy Family Ladies Club. She was a former board member of Cahokia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and served multiple years on the board of the Cahokia Public Library.

Cindy had a successful 50+ year career in the insurance industry.  She was a pioneer in her field.  Cindy began her own book of business at a time when women were only assistants.  In addition to writing insurance for cars and homes, her unconventional niche became tow truck businesses, trucking companies, car repair shops, and moving companies.  She was admired for her knowledge of the industry and her willingness to teach and share her wisdom.  She was known as the "mom" at Weiss Insurance.

Cindy enjoyed life, whether it was visiting family in Florida, going to her grandkids sporting events and band concerts, cooking her famous lasagna, or planning the next church fund raiser.  She was beloved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

For those who are familiar with her alter-ego, Aunt Sophie, her legacy will carry on...
