Clara Irene Venable, 93, of Dupo, Illinois, born May 9, 1927 in St. James, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was retired from Centreville Township Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dupo, IL and a former member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church of Cahokia, IL for over 60 years.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Leland "Lee" Venable; her parents, Henry and Irene, nee Snelson, Roster; a grandson, Michael Shourd; three brothers, Randolph, Raymond, and Ralph Roster; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Flora Venable.

Surviving are her children, Dorothy Venable of Dupo, IL, Kathy (James) Austermann of Affton, MO, and Dennis (Cynthia) Mhoon-Venable of Affton, MO; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services will follow at noon, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. (CDC guideline will be followed.)  Burial will be Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
