Charles R. "Crazy Charlie" Kennedy, Sr., 64, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 29, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Charlie was retired from Consolidated Containers in Dupo, IL. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Jewell, nee Ivy, Kennedy, Sr.; two brothers, David, Jr. and Walter Kennedy; and two sisters, Virginia Jones and Dianna Scott.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Janet Kennedy, nee Mitchell; his children, Malinda (James) Heller of Georgia; Tanya (Damion) Wadman of Cahokia, IL, Charles (Tara) Kennedy, Jr. of St. Louis, MO, and Tabatha Kennedy of Bonne Terre, MO; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with James Mitchell officiating. At Charlie's request cremation will follow.
