CHARLES F. BOSWELL, 84, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 22, 1933, in Haywood County, Tennessee, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, Illinois.
Mr. Boswell was a retired Insurance Agent from Western-Southen Life Insurance Company in St. Louis, MO. He was a US Army veteran. Charles was raised in Tennessee, graduated from Alamo High School, and worked on cotton and strawberry farms before coming to St. Louis, MO to work in the insurance business. He retired twice, but went back to work just to socialize with people. His favorite saying was "Git R Done".
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie L. Boswell, nee Taylor; his parents, Henry B. and Carmen L., nee Ammons, Boswell; a brother, James Boswell, and two grandsons, James Andrew Boswell and Fabian Alexander Teson.
Surviving are his children, Franklin (Judy) Boswell of Lake Wappapello, MO, Jennifer Davlin of Cahokia, IL, and Nathaniel Boswell of Missouri; his step children, Terry Bass of Bethalto, IL, and Ronnie (Laura) Bass and Geronda (Danny McGillis) McBride, both of Benton, KY; a sister, Linda Moxley of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren, Dustin "Old Dust", Chris, Brandon "BS", Michelle, Graeme "Nabisco", Loren, Austin "Boot", Jakob "Big Jake", Jonathan, River, and Ethan; and seven great grandchildren. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the funeral home, with Reverend Russell Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
