Carmen Higareda, nee Carrera, 92, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Cahokia, IL, born May 21, 1927 in Granite City, IL, died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Higareda was retired from Dillard's Warehouse in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO and a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL. Carmen was also a member of the Benito Juarez Society of St. Louis for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ladislado Higareda; her parents, Martin and Dolores, nee Galvan, Carrera; three brothers, Martin "Marty" Carrera, Jr. and Felix and David Carrera; and two sisters, Matilda Vasques and Marilyn Carrera.

Surviving are her three daughters, Dolores (Don Ellis) Higareda of Trumansburg, NY,Sandra (Jesse) Ponce of Galesburg, IL, and Martina "Tina" (Alberto) Ochoa of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Jose "Lou" (Flo) Carrera of St. Peters, MO and Jesse Carrera of St. Charles, MO; six sisters, Felisa Price of Laport, IN, Dolores Foster of Warren, IL, Ramona (Bill) Clark of Collinsville, IL, Victoria (Butch) Howard of St. Louis, MO, Joyce Ball of Dupo, IL, and Kathy (Larry) Scholls of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.
