The Miami Dolphins and Dan Marino, have lost their #1 Fan. Carlos Zavala Jr., 45, of St. Louis, MO, born May 18, 1975, in St. Louis, Mo, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020. He loved the Miami Dolphins, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and his mom and dad's enchiladas, especially for his birthday celebrations.

Surviving is his wife, Carmen Zavala, nee Cohen; parents, Carlos and Celestina Zavala Sr; sister, Maximilianah Zales; brother, Fernando Zavala; nephew, Noah Dailey, and over 200 aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area,  California,  and Mexico.

Carlos and his siblings were raised in Cahokia, Illinois, in the days when you had to be home by the time the street lights came on. He graduated from Cahokia High School in 1993 and went on to attend Greenville College. Carlos met his wife, Carmen Cohen, in 1999, and was married October 10, 2010.

Carlos was faithful in posting social media messages and videos to greet and keep in contact with his large extended family. He was always positive and things were always "good!" with him. His family and friends will miss hearing and seeing his updates and videos, but will always remember him when drinking that first cup of coffee in the mornings.

He will especially be missed and remembered by his mom, dad, brother, sister, and nephew.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that the visitation and funeral mass be for immediate family members only. Face masks and social distancing of 6 feet are required and will be strictly enforced.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Braun Colonial Funeral Home Cahokia, IL.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday, August 21, 2020, at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church Cahokia, IL. Burial will be at Holy Family / St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Dupo, IL.
