Calvin "Cal" Lee Harwell, 93, of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 5, 1929 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his residence.

Cal was retired from the I. B.E.W., Local 1 of St. Louis, MO. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and a member and past Commander of V.F.W. Post 1699 of Cahokia, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, nee Nachtweih, Harwell and three sisters, Annabelle, Doris, and Easter.

Surviving are her children, Karen (Ron) Morse of Arizona, Kevin Harwell of Waterloo, IL, and Susan (Donald Lange) Harwell of Red Bud, IL; a brother, Donald Harwell of Washington; a sister, Shirley Rulo of Missouri; five grandchildren, Brittany, Whitney (Dirk), Jeffrey (Lydia), Rose (Steve), and Carson; and nine great grandchildren, Madelyn, Vivian, Gage, Mason, Genesis, Lucious, Trinity, Hunter, and Brian. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
