Bruce Edward Smith, 76, of Columbia, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 19th, 1950.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse W. and Mary D. (Harris) Smith, sisters, Valerie Weier, Pamela Anquoe and Nancy Smith, and niece, Kerri Weier.

Bruce is survived by his brother-in-law, Dennis Weier, niece Tami Smith, nephews, Bradley (Jill) Weier and James Paul Anquoe, great-nieces, Madalyn (Braden) Volpert and Avery Weier, great-nephew, Nolan Weier, and great-great nephews Wade and Weston Volpert.

Bruce graduated from Cahokia High School in 1970. He delivered newspapers in downtown St. Louis for many years.

Bruce was an avid story teller who enjoyed playing cards and board games with his family. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports and game shows.

Memorial Service will be private for immediate family in Valhalla Gardens in Belleville, Illinois.
