Billie M. Darnell, nee McPhail, 91, of Cahokia, Illinois, born July 29, 1926 in Herrin, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at her home.

Billie graduated from Herrin High School in 1944. She was a seamstress at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL. Billie married Charles W. Darnell on September 29, 1945. They shared 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2003. Billie was a member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church in Cahokia, Illinois, IL and taught Sunday School for over 47 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Darnell; her parents, Lester and Edith, nee Hale, McPhail; and an infant son.

Surviving are her sister, Carmilee Donahue; nephew, Cameron (Stephanie) Donahue; great nephew Zachary Donahue; great niece Maddisyn Donahue all of Murphyboro, IL. She was a dear cousin and friend.
