Betty L. Fahnestock, nee Dietzfelbinger, 85, of Columbia, Illinois, born February 4, 1941 in Bloomsdale, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Waterloo, Illinois.

Betty was retired from P D George in St. Louis, MO. Her favorite pastime was doing crafts and arts. She loved calligraphy and creating greeting cards. She also enjoyed shopping.

She was preceded in death by a son, Craig Fahnestock; her parents, John and Isabelle, nee Werner, Dietzfelbinger; a brother, John Dietzfelbinger; and four sisters, Doris Hellman, Bonnie Green, Isabelle Coovert, and Margie Scott.

Surviving are her loving husband of 67 years, Terry D. Fahnestock; a son, Curt Fahnestock of Columbia, IL; two sisters, Nelda Riggins of Lake of the Ozarks, MO and Verna Wallis of Farmington, MO; two granddaughters, Olivia (Tucker) Dezelan and Gina (Zac Henderson) Fahnestock, both of Denver, CO and two great grandsons, Dale Terry Dezelan and Grant James Henderson. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend,

In accordance with Betty's wishes a private cremation will be held. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. A private burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
