BETTY F. CARSON, nee Lucas, 84, of East Carondelet, IL, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, born June 5, 1933 in Kirksville, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO, with her children and grandchildren by her side.

Betty was retired from Gold Plate in DuQuoin, IL and was a member of the Grace Outreach Church in Pinckneyville. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren and going to church. Betty spent many hours through the years visiting with family and friends in the hospital or confined to their homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dean Carson; her parents, Joseph and Evelyn, nee Willm, Lucas; and a daughter, Melinda Hicks.

Surviving are her children, Pamela (Jack) Wayer of Rainbow City, AL, Kenneth (Linda) Bozeman of Pinckneyville, IL, Carol (Kenneth) Owen of East Carondelet, IL, and Jeffrey (Kara) Carson of Pinckneyville, IL; a sister, Anna (Stanley) Mitchell of St. Louis, MO; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017, at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Braun with Rev. Kenneth Owen officiating. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
