Barbara Jean (Gordon) Usher, age 82, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion. She was born on August 31, 1943, to her loving parents, Warren and Lenia Gordon.
Barbara lived a life deeply rooted in two foundational pillars: her God and her family. She possessed a nurturing heart and found immense joy in teaching children, guiding them with patience and kindness. She was also an avid crafter who loved bringing creativity into the world and sharing her beautiful handmade creations with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lenia; her dear sister, Pat; and the absolute love of her life, her husband Bob Usher.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her family. She is survived by her devoted children, Robert (Elizabeth) Usher and Tony Usher, and her beloved grandchildren, Heather Usher and Natalie Usher; two sisters, Alice (Bob) Milam and Linda (Michael) Livengood; all of whom brought endless joy to her life. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.
A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life and faith will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Redemption Church, located in Barnhart, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Barbara’s honor to Michael Livengood Ministries or Samaritan’s Purse, two organizations that reflect her compassionate spirit and lifelong devotion to her faith.
Braun Family Funeral Home in Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Mrs. Usher.
