Barbara D. Roy, nee Mest, 83, of Cahokia, Illinois, born September 17, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed listening and dancing to the sound of Big Band Music, especially "Ol' Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra. Her favorite local band was the Mike Lacey Band.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Roy, Sr.; her parents, Virgil and Ruth, nee Claiborne, Mest; and two brothers, Donald and William Mest.

Surviving are her children, Linda (Larry) McIver of Valmeyer, IL, Cathy (Curt) Edwards of Pontoon Beach, IL, Sherri (Dave) VanVoltenberg of Bennington, NE, and Charles (Juanita) Roy, Jr. of Belleville, IL; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Craig), Larry Joe "LJ" (Jaren), Eric (Megan), Craig (Melissa), Ryan (Angel), Andrew, Lyndie, Nilah, and Nia; and 10 great grandchildren. She was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
