Archie R. Smith, 93, of Cahokia, Illinois, born December 19, 1923 in Lesterville, Missouri, passed away Friday April 28, 2017 at Oak Hill in Waterloo, Illinois.

Mr. Smith was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Cahokia, Illinois and a U.S. Navy WW II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Jewell Maxine Smith, nee Sanders; Second wife Kathy Smith, nee Micken; daughter Sandra Lee Smith; daughter -in-law Terry Smith, nee Thomas; son-in-law Pat McDonnell; grandson Steven Ray Smith Jr.; three brother and five sisters.

Surviving are his children Steve (Betty) Smith Sr. of Carter Lake, Iowa, Vickie Rea of Millstadt, Illinois, Karen (Jim) Dunn of Oviedo, Florida, Judy McDonnell of Columbia, Illinois, Brenda Smith of Sherwood, Arkansas, Ed (Donna) Smith, John Smith and Bill (Debbie) Smith all of Cahokia, Illinois; 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend.



Visitation Monday May 1, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braun Family Funeral Home in Columbia, Illinois.

Funeral service Monday May 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Roger Reid Officiating. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Annapolis Cemetery in Annapolis, Missouri.
