Andrew D. Hunter, 39, of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 6, 1987 in Belleville, Illinois, died Monday, September 14, 2026 at his residence.

Andrew was employed by Stellar Manufacturing in Sauget, IL. He was an avid St. Louis Blues fan. He enjoyed playing softball for the Silver Ballroom team; bowling; fishing; and singing Karaoke.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Catherine Hunter and Emmett and Helen Downard; aunts, Lois Owens and Laura Berkbigler; two uncles, Don Berkbigler and Fred Cron; and two cousins, Jonathan Schmelter and Gary Downard.

Surviving are his father, Stephen (Jane) Hunter of Fairview Heights, IL; his mother, Janice (Mike Capps) Downard of Belleville, IL; a sister, Sarah (Joe) Hunter of Belleville, IL; a brother, Robert "Bobby" Hunter of Cahokia, IL; two stepsisters, Shannon (Marquise) Epps of Chattanooga, TN and Kaelynn (David) Penland of Hamilton, IN; a stepbrother, Christopher Elkins of Dupo, IL; and a nephew, Emmett Hunter. He was also a dear nephew, cousin, and friend.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating. Since Andrew was an avid St. Louis Blues fan, people are encouraged to wear St. Louis Blues attire to his services. A private cremation will follow.
