Abigail Kali "Princess Abby" Ruegsegger (West), 28, of Cahokia, Illinois, born July 16, 1997 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully, January 31, 2026 surrounded by family, at the de Greef Hospice House in St. Louis, Missouri.

Abby was a graduate of Waterloo High School. She loved to listen to music. She enjoyed family gatherings, where she would go around wanting to sample everyone's food.  She enjoyed being in the water.

She was preceded in death by her, father, Brandon Ruegsegger; her grandfather, Melvin York, Jr.; a cousin, Meaghan York; a great aunt, Regina Caito; sister, Jennifer West.

Surviving are her mother, Tammy Ruegsegger-West of Cahokia, IL; her earthly father, William West; her sister, Madisyn (Justin) Swanson of St. Louis, MO; her brother, Bryce West of St. Louis, MO; her grandmother, Verene York of Cahokia, IL; a nephew, Luke Swanson; four uncles, Mike (Cindy) York of Perryville, MO, Tim (Bonnie) York of Troy, IL, Pat (Angie) York of Millstadt, IL; Cody King of Muskegon, MI;  an aunt, Julie (Glen) George of Cahokia, IL;.  She was also a dear cousin, and friend.

Abby's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at the deGreef Hospice House, especially, Rachel "Ray", Angie, and Rachel

Abby loved pudding, so in lieu  of flowers, people may drop off pudding or shelf stable desserts that will be given to the Millstadt Food Pantry, or donations may be made to the Millstadt Food Pantry, 420 Souith Jefferson, Millstadt, IL 62260, in her honor.

Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Holy Family/St. Joseph Cemetery, Dupo, Illinois.
